Push–out Test of Timber Concrete Composite Construction

چکیده

In this study, push – out test specimen is proposed to explore the behavior of shear connectors in timber–concrete composite beams. Since there are no standard shapes and dimensions for determining strength connectors, push–out specimens such as those used steel-concrete beams suggested study timber concrete Four tested. Two these with one connector per side. The other two load slip recorded during testing. results show that ultimate ranges from 24.9 kN 29.4 kN, an average value 26.9 kN. An equation determine connector. Good agreement achieved between theoretical experimental results. 0.98 obtained

FEM models of composite timber-lightweight concrete floor systems

Paper presents the main principals in designing wood-lightweight concrete composite floor structures using FEM models. All design-related analyses are performed by means of the FEA COSMOS/M program. Paper emphasises some important details in FEM model design (how to choose appropriate finite elements for different types of materials, how to connect concrete slab and timber beams to work togethe...

Sustainable construction: composite use of tyres and ash in concrete.

An investigation was carried out to establish the physical, mechanical and chemical characteristics of a non-standard (unprocessed) pulverised fuel ash (PFA) and waste tyres from a former landfill site at the Power Station Hill near Church Village, South Wales, United Kingdom. Investigations are on-going to establish the suitability of the fly ash and/or tyres in road construction (embankment a...

Behaviour of a Timber-Concrete Composite Beam with Glued Connection at Strength Limit State

The paper reports the results of a collapse test performed on a 6 m span timber-concrete composite beam with glued re-bar connection. The beam was first ramp loaded to failure, then some push-out tests were performed on specimens cut from the end of the beam in order to fully characterise the connection. During the tests all relevant quantities such as deflections, slips and strains were monito...
